Riverton Community Thanksgiving Meal:
Celebrate Together at the Table
Riverton, WY -
The Riverton Community Thanksgiving Meal welcomes everyone to come together and
celebrate around the table this Thanksgiving Day. Coordinated by dedicated
volunteers, this long-standing community tradition ensures that no one spends
the holiday without a warm meal or friendly company.
This year’s event focuses on the in-person
Community Thanksgiving Meal, with expanded transportation options
through WRTA to help ensure everyone who wants to attend can join. The
project includes three components: the Thanksgiving Food Box Giveaway, a
limited number of Hot Meal Deliveries, and the in-person Community Meal at the
Fremont Center.
1. Thanksgiving Food Box Giveaway
The RHS Key Club will once again host their
annual Thanksgiving food box distribution on Saturday, November 22 at 10
a.m. at Riverton High School, 2001 West Sunset Drive.
Distribution is drive-thru, first-come,
first-served, one box per vehicle. Each box contains all the essentials
for preparing a Thanksgiving meal at home.
2. Hot Meal Deliveries (Limited to 100 Meals)
Hot Thanksgiving meal deliveries are
reserved only for individuals who truly cannot attend the in-person meal,
including seniors, those with mobility challenges, and others unable to leave
their homes.
A total of 100 delivered meals will
be available and will be delivered between 10 a.m. and noon on
Thanksgiving morning.
To request a meal delivery, please call the
Riverton Senior Center at 307-856-6332.
3. Community Thanksgiving Meal - Our Main Event
The heart of the project is the in-person
Community Thanksgiving Meal, and everyone is invited.
Join us Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m.
to 2 p.m. at the Fremont Center, 1010 Fairgrounds Drive for a full
Thanksgiving spread, warm conversation, and a joyful community atmosphere.
This is the primary focus of this year’s
efforts, and organizers encourage all who are able to
attend in person.
Transportation
Thanks to WRTA, transportation to
and from the meal is greatly expanded this year. To arrange a ride, simply call
the Riverton Senior Center at 307-856-6332.
RSVP: Not
required, but helpful for planning. RSVPs can be made through the Senior
