PAWS for Life: 'Furry Field Trip' Program

 Paws for Life Animal League is excited to announce our "Furry Field Trip" program!

Give a shelter dog a break from the kennel and some much-needed socialization by taking them on an adventure. You can spend a couple of hours, a full day, or even have a sleepover!

Imagine the fun:

• A trip to the dog park
• A long walk or hike
• A special treat like a "pup cup"
• A pup-friendly stop at McDonald's
• A cozy overnight sleepover

Not only will you be giving a deserving dog a great time, but you'll also be helping them become more social and adoptable. Be sure to snap some pictures of your adventure so we can share them on our social media!

We'll provide you with a leash, collar, water, a water bowl, toys, and treats. If you're doing a sleepover, we'll also provide food. All you need is your own transportation and a way to take photos.

To get started, simply stop by the shelter to fill out volunteer paperwork. You can also call or message us if you have any questions.

Our hours are:

Tuesday - Friday: 12 PM - 5 PM

Saturday: 10 AM - 1 PM

Did you know that Riverton is home to the Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally every July? This event started in 1981 as a way to celebrate the town of Riverton’s 75th anniversary. It is put on by the Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Committee and has kept running for the past 45 years!

Now Open: TourWest Grants from Creative West 

Arts and community organizations across the 13-state Creative West region can now apply for 2025–2026 TourWest grants to bring out-of-state touring performers to local audiences.

Deadline to Apply: September 15, 2025

Awards: $2,500–$7,500 (up to 50% of artist fees)

Open to nonprofits, tribal organizations & government entities.

Performances must take place Sept. 1, 2025 – Aug. 31, 2026
